Today, I left the southernmost stop of my journey, Punta Arenas in Chile. I only stayed there for one night as the weather was quite rough when I arrived and I did not want to risk wasting a day. Basically, I am running out of time.
I am booked on a flight leaving Buenos Aires on the 6th December and I still have not finished my tour of Chile. I will be staying a total of 3 nights in Puerto Natales. After visiting Torres del Paine, I will have a free day and on the 19th Nov, I will travel to the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina and then I will continue travelling north. I hope to stop at some places on the way but I think I am going to have to make some difficult choices as I don´t have enough time to stop at every interesting place en route.
With the Perito Moreno glacier seen,I will then only have 1 item on my list un-ticked, the Iguazu Falls in the far north of Argentina. Once I have seen them, including seeing them from the Brazilian side, I hope to still have enough time to spend a few days in both Paraguay and Uruguay. Then 2 or 3 days in Buenos Aires before getting the plane home.
The plan does not have any room for things to go wrong. I have had to switch modes from being the person in absolutely no hurry, taking lots of time to enjoy things, to now being a full on, “get out of my way, I´m in a hurry”, tourist. Oh dear.
